September 2015 saw the 75th anniversary of The Battle of Britain. RAF Cranwell contacted us to make a Spitfire flying through the Battle of Britain Skies. The Spitfire Vodka Luge was to be a focal point to their Dinner Dance celebration. This was a challenge we could not refuse. We have created many Spitfire Luges over the years - but were always in a Portrait (Vertical) format. This Luge for RAF Cranwell was to be in a Landscape format - showing the majesty and superb aero-dynamic design of the Spitfire.
This particular spitfire was created using 1 1/2 ice blocks and consisted of three parts - the Base, the fuselage and the wings. Assembled on site and at the entrance to the dining room - it really set the scene for a fabulous and unforgettable night.
