Diamond Ring in a Diamond Ring
Alison from Peplow the Jewellers in Worcester contacted us stating they were hosting a 'Ladies' Day' at Worcester County Cricket ground, where a match would be played and the ladies would be entertained in a large marquee. One of the focal points was to be an ice sculpture. However, not just an ordinary Ice Sculpture. Alison wanted two Ice Diamond rings intertwined with one of the diamonds to have in the centre a real diamond ring.
Ladies would have to guess, 'how long would it take for the ice to melt and the ring be exposed?'
We carved two beautiful rings and froze-in the real ring Alison sent us. The day started at 9:00 am; it was a beautiful summers' day. The ice sculpture fitted-in with the atmosphere and the concept of the day. As we were setting-up the Ice Sculpture, many ladies asked our opinion as to how long the ice would take to melt - we were tight lipped!
This was an exciting concept and idea; it filled the brief on many levels:
- It was visually arresting as a centre piece
- It contained something ladies wanted - a Diamond Ring
- Because it was ice, it did take time to melt so held the ladies' attention throughout the event
- There was a prize at the end of the day for someone who guessed the correct timing
All-in-all it was a highly successful; a day those ladies will not forget for a long time.
